Credit CounselingWhat Is Credit Counseling?Family Credit Management is a credit counseling agency. We’ve created the Crossroads Debt Management Program to help clients repay their debt in a safe and smart manner. This program differs from bankruptcy and debt settlement in many ways. If you make your payments on time, your credit won’t be hurt (it may actually improve), the collection calls will stop, you won’t get sued and you can be viewed as a responsible consumer by lenders and employers. To simplify it, after you finish Crossroads, you’ll have complete financial freedom. The credit counseling process starts when you talk to one of our certified credit counselors and explain your situation. You’ll get an estimate while you’re on the phone and we’ll send you all the materials you need to understand the process. You should ask as many questions as you want – it’s important that you feel comfortable any time your finances are involved. Once you’ve enrolled, we contact your creditors and tell them you’ve enrolled in Crossroads and are trying to repay your debt. To make it easier for you to repay them, they will usually lower your interest rate and stop charging you late and over-limit fees. That way you can pay off the actual debt, instead of spending all your money on extra charges. Unlike debt settlement, when you make a payment to us, we pay all your creditors right away, at the same time. That way your credit report won’t suffer from missed payments and your creditors won’t sue you for not paying them. The collection calls should stop about one month after your first payment. You can choose whether to make one payment to us once a month, or split it in half and paid twice a month. Either way, it will be much easier than making separate payments to all your creditors. Credit counseling is not an easy process. It takes responsibility and self-control. But when you are finished, you will be completely free of debt and in a position to get credit, loans and live a financially responsible life. You can have a fresh start, but you need to work to get there. Call our counselors today and find out what it would take for you. 800-994-3328 |
